About Us
The Diversity Immigrant Visa Program makes 50,000 diversity visas ("Green Cards") available, granting permanent work and residency visas to persons who meet the strict eligibility requirements from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. This program is governed by the Department of State and conducted under the terms of "Section 203(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1990 (Pub. L. 101-649 amended INA 203 to provide for a new class of immigrants known as "diversity immigrants" (DV Immigrants)." Applicants for Diversity Visas are randomly chosen by a computer generated lottery drawing. Winners of the Green Card Lottery and their immediate family members will receive diversity immigrant visas, which will give them the permanent right to live and work in the United States. You and your family can win green cards, but you must to the US Immigration Lottery! Diversity Visas ("Green Cards") are distributed among six geographic regions. A larger number of visas will go to countries with lower rates of immigration and no visas will be issued to countries sending more than 50,000 immigrants to the U.S. in the past five years.
